Where the Community Comes Together

Have you heard?  The Holiday Lighted Parade is coming December 2, 2021, and guess what?  In partnership with the Steele County Free Fair, we will have a float representing all our communities.  Fair Manager, Scott Kozelka, when asked what our theme could be, immediately responded with “Where the Community Comes Together”.  The Steele County Free Fair is where all our communities come together each year.  Within each of our communities though we also come together.  Every time there is a need, we come together, develop new partnerships, and identify solutions to our communities most challenging issues.  United Way and the Steele County Fair are where the community comes together!

That’s not all, once you’ve checked out the beautiful floats, come on down to Foremost for their first ever Pints with a Purpose event.  For every pint of Foremost Beer or Root Beer sold that day, $1 will be donated to United Way of Steele County.  If that wasn’t fantastic enough, we will have live Holiday Jazz playing at Foremost for about an hour after the parade.  And if that isn’t enough to put you into the Holiday Spirit, we will be showcasing the 2021 United Way – Stand Together t-shirt designed by 16-year-old Kaleb out of Blooming Prairie.  He is a talented young man with a vision of what it means to Recover, Reimage, and Rebuild in Steele County.

So, stop in and pick up shirts for the whole family.  $25 each with sizes 2T up to 3XL available at the event.  All proceeds will go towards the 2021 United Way of Steele County Campaign which supports Health, Education, and Financial Stability Programs and Services for every person in our communities.  Our goal this year is $800,000 and we are on track to meeting that goal!!  Currently we are sitting at 46% with several workplace campaigns wrapping up in the next few weeks.  With the support of our business partners and each of you, we are confident that we will raise enough to support all the human services work we have planned for 2022.  Thank you for your support!!  Give, Advocate, Volunteer…this is how we LIVE UNITED.
