Important Announcement From United Way of Steele County

United Way of Steele County is pleased to share with you that Annette Duncan will become its next President leading our successful community organization into the future. Annette has a depth of leadership and nonprofit organization experience and a strong background and commitment to the United Way of Steele County. She was an active member of the United Way Board of Directors from 2007 to 2015 and served as the Board Chair from 2012 to 2014. She has lived and worked in Steele County for many years, most recently as Executive Director of the Exchange Club Center for Family Unity. Annette has a Bachelor degree in Organizational Management and Communications from Concordia University, St. Paul and a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Adler University.

In accepting this position Annette stated, “I have a passion for the work of the United Way. Accepting the President position is exciting and allows me to expand my influence and capability to help even more people achieve success.” Current board chair, David Albrecht said, “We are elated to have found a person of such high caliber to lead our United Way agency into the future. Her wealth of education, experience and energy positions us well for the years to come.”

Annette will begin her role on June 1, 2020 replacing Kim Schaufenbuel who announced earlier this year that she is taking a position at Federated Insurance. Annette and Kim will work together in the coming weeks to facilitate an orderly transition.
